With the Buffalo Sabres in town to face the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday (7 p.m. ET; NBCSN, MSG, NHL.TV), New York Knicks star Kristaps Porzingis didn't miss a chance to meet up with fellow Latvian Zemgus Girgensons.
Girgensons, 22, exchanged his autographed No. 28 Sabres jersey for an autographed No. 6 New York Knicks jersey from Porzingis, 21.
The 6-foot-2 Girgensons and the 7-3 Porzingis also posed for a photo together in the lower bowl of the arena.
Porzingis is one of two Latvian NBA players (the other is Davis Bertans of San Antonio Spurs) and Girgensons is one of two Latvian NHL players (the other is goaltender Kristers Gudlevskis of Tampa Bay Lightning).
