Doughty to have hearing with Player Safety for actions in Kings game

Los Angeles Kings defenseman Drew Doughty will have a hearing with the NHL Department of Player Safety on Thursday for an illegal check to the head of Vegas Golden Knights forward William Carrier in Game 1 of the Western Conference First Round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

The incident occurred at 9:58 of the third period at T-Mobile Arena on Wednesday. There was no penalty assessed on the play. Carrier did not return to the game.
The Golden Knights won 1-0. Game 2 of the best-of-7 series is at T-Mobile Arena on Friday (10 p.m. ET; NBCSN, CBC, TVAS, ATTSN-RM, PRIME).
The following grounds are being considered for supplemental discipline: illegal check to the head. However, the Department of Player Safety retains the right to make adjustments to the infraction upon review.
