Philadelphia Flyers center Sean Couturier will miss 4-6 weeks with a lower-body injury.
Couturier, who was placed on injured reserve, has a small MCL tear in his left knee but will not require surgery, CSNPhilly.com reported Wednesday. He was injured 1:40 into the second period of the Flyers' 3-1 win at the Florida Panthers when his legs got tangled with Panthers forward Vincent Trocheck and had to be helped off the ice.

"Anytime someone like [Couturier] goes down, it [stinks]," Flyers forward Wayne Simmonds told Philly.com after the game. "...Our centers stepped up and did a great job [Tuesday]."
Couturier has five goals and eight points in 20 games.
The Flyers play the Tampa Bay Lightning at Amalie Arena on Wednesday (7:30 p.m. ET; NBCSN, TCN-PH, NHL.TV).
