Cam Atkinson and Pierre-Luc Dubois have stolen the spotlight for the Blue Jackets at the 2018 IIHF Men's World Championship in Denmark, but two of their teammates had the stage Wednesday.
Finland's Markus Nutivaara and Denmark's Oliver Bjorkstrand faced off at Jyske Bank Boxen in the second preliminary game of the day in Group B, with Bjorkstrand scoring his first goal of the tournament to help the Danes earn a big 3-2 victory.

Nutivaara extended his point streak to four games to start the tournament by assisting on a game-tying goal by Minnesota Wild center Mikael Granlund in the third period, after racking up two goals and two assists in the first three games.

Earlier in the day, defenseman Dean Kukan played another solid game for Switzerland, which improved to 2-1-1-0 (W-OTW-OTL-L) in Group A with a 5-2 victory against Belarus at Royal Arena in Copenhagen.
Kukan has yet to record a point in the tournament but has played well as Switzerland's left point on the second defense pairing.
Looking forward to Thursday's action, the Jackets will have connections in all four games. French center Alexandre Texier will take on Slovakia and Russian defenseman Vladislav Gavrikov will face the Czech Republic in Copenhagen (Group A), while six players with Columbus connections will play in Group B.
Atkinson and Sonny Milano will try to help the U.S. stay undefeated in a game against Latvia, which will likely start Blue Jackets prospect Elvis Merzlikins in net. In the second game, defenseman Ryan Murrayand Dubois will play for Canada against Norway.
