Pastrnak, Rask help Bruins top Senators to end three-game skid

OTTAWA -- David Pastrnak had two goals and two assists and Tuukka Rask made 38 saves to help the Boston Bruins to a 4-1 win against the Ottawa Senators at Canadian Tire Centre on Tuesday.

The Bruins' top forward line of Pastrnak, Brad Marchand and Patrice Bergeron combined for eight points (three goals, five assists).
"Pastrnak] is kind of coming into his own," Marchand said. "He's just a dominant player. His abilities are so much better than everyone else's and the way he sees the ice, his confidence level right now, it's a lot of fun to watch."

Bergeron had a goal and two assists and David Krejci had a goal and an assist for Boston (5-2-2), which ended a three-game losing streak.
It was a nice response for Rask, who allowed four goals on 28 shots in a 5-2 loss at the Calgary Flames on Oct. 17.

"[Rask hasn't been] at the standard I think we're all used to," Bruins coach Bruce Cassidy said. "I think he'd be the first to admit that. I thought he was real good tonight, tracking pucks, rebound control was good. There was a lot of stuff coming around him at the net.
"I'm happy for him. He needed a good, solid win. He got it and hopefully he builds off of it."
Defenseman Thomas Chabot scored and goalie Craig Anderson made 28 saves for the Senators (4-3-1), who had won three straight.
"I thought we did a good job at getting our chances," Senators forward Mark Stone said. "I think we had looks. A couple of loose pucks in behind and we just couldn't finish. We're trying to get pucks at the net and bodies there; maybe we just didn't have enough traffic in there to bang in those loose pucks behind them."
Pastrnak gave the Bruins a 1-0 lead at 11:17 of the first period when his wrist shot from the top of the slot beat Anderson blocker side.

Chabot tied it 1-1 at 17:51 of the second period when he one-timed a pass from Bobby Ryan at the point on the power play.
Krejci one-timed Pastrnak's feed into an open net on a 5-on-3 power play to give the Bruins a 2-1 lead at 19:09.
Bergeron tipped a point shot on the power play 21 seconds into the third period to make it 3-1.
Boston extended its lead to 4-1 at 5:31 of the third period when Marchand deked Senators defenseman Dylan DeMelo and then backhanded a pass to Pastrnak, who lifted it over Anderson's right pad.

Our top line, not too many off nights they're going to have, so they bounced back from Vancouver (a 2-1 overtime loss on Saturday) where they didn't get on the board. Need to know

Pastrnak is the sixth player in Bruins history to score 10 goals in the month of October; Phil Esposito holds their record with 13 (1973-74). … Cassidy said defenseman Urho Vaakanainen sustained a concussion after a hit from Senators defenseman Mark Borowiecki. The Bruins will recall a defenseman from Providence of the American Hockey League.
