Golden Knights To Support "Hockey Is For Everyone"

Owner Bill Foley announced that the Golden Knights would be supporting the initiative in a variety of ways

VEGAS (February 22, 2017) - Vegas Golden Knights Owner Bill Foley announced today, February 22, that the team will be supporting the NHL's Hockey Is For Everyone initiative through a variety of ways, including participating in USA Hockey's "Try Hockey for Free Day" on February 25 and a visit to The Center in Las Vegas on February 28. Details for both events can be found below.

"We truly believe hockey is for everyone - regardless of one's background - and we are pleased to participate in this important league initiative in our very first year."

"Try Hockey For Free Day" - February 25 On Saturday, February 25th, USA Hockey and 380 local associations across the country will host "Try Hockey For Free Day." Participating locations encourage kids, ages 4 to 9, to come try youth hockey as part of Hockey Week Across America. Interested families can register to participate by visiting

What: The Vegas Golden Knights will support USA Hockey's Try Hockey For Free Day by attending the event and distributing hockey sticks and USA Hockey jerseys to the first 80 children who participate. Hockey Operations Assistant Keith Veronesi will be on the ice giving skating and hockey tutorials

"You Can Play" - Vegas Golden Knights Visit The Center - February 28 The Center is a community-based organization that supports and promotes activities directed at furthering the well-being, positive image and human rights of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer community, its allies and low to moderate income residents in Southern Nevada. The Vegas Golden Knights will be visiting The Center on Tuesday, February 28 and setting up interactives including an inflatable shooting cage, life size Jenga and Golden Knights bean bag toss as well as giving out special rainbow-themed Golden Knights t-shirts.
