The Vegas Golden Knights open the 2026-27 season with Rookie Camp presented by Martin-Harris Construction at City National Arena this week.
The rookies travel to San Jose on Friday for the 2026 Rookie Showcase with games against the Utah Mammoth on Saturday, Sept. 12, at 3 p.m. PT and the Colorado Avalanche on Sunday, Sept. 13, at 1 p.m. PT.
Both games will be streamed live on VegasGoldenKnights.com and KnightTime+. Golden Knights host Daren Millard and Henderson Silver Knights play-by-play commentator Brian McCormack will call the action throughout the weekend. PLAYERS TO WATCH
Trevor Connelly (F) – The 20-year-old California native was drafted 19th overall by the Golden Knights in the 2024 NHL Draft. Connelly is in his second season of his three-year, entry-level contract with the Golden Knights. After returning from injury, Connelly finished the 2025-26 season strong with the American Hockey League's Henderson Silver Knights, posting 49 points (14G, 35A) in just 46 games. In March, Connelly was named the AHL's player of the month, recording 20 points (3G, 17A) across all 15 games, setting the record for longest point streak in Silver Knights history. Before his debut in Henderson, Connelly played 23 games at Providence College in 2024-25 where he picked up 13 points (4G, 9A), won the Pro Ambitions Hockey East Rookie of the Week, and led his team to the NCAA tournament. The forward has also appeared in two World Junior tournaments, representing the United States in U18 during the 2023-24 season and U20 in 2024-25.
Alex Weiermair (F) – Weiermair was selected in the sixth round (186th overall) in the 2025 NHL Draft by the Golden Knights. The 21-year-old signed a three-year entry-level contract with the VGK organization on March 1, 2026. The Southern California product spent his last two seasons with the Western Hockey League's Portland Winterhawks where he recorded 139 points (58G, 81A) across 107 games, before joining the ECHL's Tahoe Knight Monsters for the team's final few games of the regular season and postseason this past April. In his last season with Portland, Weiermair was named the 2026 WHL Scholastic Player of the Year. Prior to his stint in Juniors, Weiermair played two seasons for the University of Denver, where he skated in 33 games and won the 2024 NCAA Championship with the Pioneers. During the 2022-23 season, Weiermair represented the United States with the U18 National Team, where he tallied 26 points (11G, 15A) in 55 games.
Jonah Sivertson (F) – In the 2026 NHL Draft, the Golden Knights selected Sivertson 113th overall during the fourth round. The 18-year-old from Saskatchewan appeared in 66 games during the 2025-26 season with the WHL's Prince Albert Raiders, recording 53 points (24G, 29A), and a +46 rating. Sivertson helped lead Prince Albert to the 2026 WHL championship series, collecting ten points (3G, 7A) in his 20 postseason games. In the 2023-24 season, Sivertson represented Team Saskatchewan in the WHL Cup, netting three goals in five games.
Jordan Gustafson (F) - Gustafson, a forward from Alberta, was drafted 79th overall in the 2022 NHL Draft by Vegas. The 22-year-old is entering his last season of his three-year, entry-level contract with the Golden Knights. Last season, Gustafson split time between the Henderson Silver Knights and Tahoe Knight Monsters, playing a total of 36 games and tallying 30 points (9G, 21A). Gustafson spent four seasons with the WHL's Seattle Thunderbirds, recording 127 points (55G, 72A) across 153 games and earning captaincy in his final season with the team. In 2021-22, Gustafson helped the Thunderbirds win the WHL Championship, registering four goals and 12 assists through the playoff run.
Bronson Ride (D) - Ride enters the 2026-27 season in the first year of his three-year, entry-level contract that he penned with the Golden Knights on March 14, 2026. The six-foot seven defenseman spent the previous five seasons in the Ontario Hockey League, totaling 74 points (17G, 57A) in 298 games across stints with the Windsor Spitfires, Niagara IceDogs and North Bay Battalion. Following his final year in the OHL, Ride will join the Henderson Silver Knights for the upcoming campaign.
Sean Burick (D) – The Golden Knights selected Burick in the third round of the 2026 NHL Draft (95th overall) and he presents an exciting combination of size, physicality, and room for development. The 18-year-old stands at six-foot eight and 214 pounds, and is coming off his first year of junior in the WHL. Prior to this season, the blueliner spent two seasons at Shattuck St. Mary's, where he played a combined 122 games between regular season and tournaments, posting 51 points (11G, 40A) and helping the team win the U18 national title. The Penticton Vees selected the San Clemente, California native in the 2025 WHL Expansion Draft ahead of their inaugural season, and he played 50 games, registering four assists and a +25 rating. After another season in Penticton, Burick will head to the University of Denver for the 2027-28 season.
Will McLaughlin (D) - The 18-year-old defenseman out of Canmore, Alberta was selected by the Golden Knights in the fifth round of the 2026 NHL Entry Draft (159th overall). McLaughlin recently finished his first season in the WHL with the Portland Winterhawks, posting 30 points (9G, 21A) in 68 games. He also helped lead Team USA U18 to a gold medal in the 2025 Hlinka Gretzky Cup for the first time in 22 years, picking up three helpers in five games including an assist in the 5-3 victory over Sweden in the final. McLaughlin is committed to play for Colorado College for the 2027-28 season.
Pavel Moysevich (G) - Moysevich signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Golden Knights in March 2026, two years after he was selected in the third round of the 2024 NHL Draft (83rd overall). The six-foot six netminder from Minsk, Belarus posted a 5-3-0 record to go along with a 2.41 GAA and .917 save percentage in his 10 games this past season with SKA-VMF St. Petersburg of the VHL. Prior to the 2025-26 season, Moysevich appeared in 31 games across two seasons for SKA St. Petersburg in the KHL. After making his KHL debut at 19 years old, he set the record for save percentage by a teenager, posting a .942 mark across 13 games in 2023-24. Moysevich participated in his first VGK Development Camp over the summer, and looks to join the Henderson Silver Knights this fall for his first season of North American professional hockey.
