1. SITUATIONAL PLAY
After losses by Montreal (79pts) and Carolina (79pts) last night, the Flyers (72pts) could move back within 5 points of the wild card position with a win, and combined with a Blue Jackets (77pts) loss vs. PIT, they could move within 3 points of Columbus, who is just on the outside of the wild card... While the Flyers are in a fight for the playoffs, the Isles are in a see-saw battle for the top spot in the Metro - the Isles (85pts) sit two points behind the Capitals (87pts) with tonight's game being the difference in terms of games played... With a regulation win, the Isles could move back into first place... They have not finished first in their Division since the 1987-88 season when they led the Patrick Division and eventually fell to the Flyers in the Patrick Division Finals.

2. BACK TO THE ISLAND
The Flyers return to Nassau after earning a 4-1 win last Sunday, which evened the season series at one win apiece... The Flyers have scored all five of their goals in the first two periods in the season series, with five different players scoring all five goals, while the Isles have scored four of their seven goals in the third period... The Flyers will also be looking for back-to-back wins over the Isles for the first time in their last eight meetings, since winning five in-a-row from Jan. 9, 2016 to Jan. 22, 2017.
3. RESPONSE TEAM
The Flyers are looking to rebound after a 5-3 loss to the Capitals on Wednesday - The Flyers have dropped two straight games just once in their last two months (Feb. 19-21) and since their eight-game winless skid ended on Jan. 8, they have won six of seven games following a loss, going 6-1-0... The Flyers have also been road warriors over the last two months, they have earned points in 8 of their last 9 away from Philadelphia, going 7-1-1 in that stretch... The Flyers are in the Top 5 in the NHL for most goals in the third period (82), which also ranks second among all Eastern Conference teams... They have recorded a third-period goal in 13 of their last 14 games.
4. GOALS WILL GET YOU WINS
The Islanders come into tonight after back-to-back wins over the Senators in which they recorded four and five goals respectively... When scoring three or more goals in a game (including shootouts) the Isles own 31 of their 39 wins this season, going 31-2-2... The Isles have also posted a 22-2-2 record in games where they have scored at least one power-play goal, however, they have now gone seven straight games without recording a goal on the power play, dating back to Feb. 21... Overall, they rank 26th in the NHL on the man advantage (15.6%).
5. PLAYERS TO WATCH:
FLYERS (LW: #28 - Claude Giroux)
Giroux is currently riding a six-game point streak in which he has assists in all six games and has produced 11 points in that stretch... Included in that six-game stretch are five multi-point games, including his last three outings, and a plus-minus rating of +11... With 20 goals and 72 points he now has seven 20+ goal seasons and six 70+ point seasons in his 11 full years in the NHL.
ISLANDERS (LW: #27 - Anders Lee)
Lee leads the team in goal-scoring with 23 tallies this season, which includes leading the team with eight power-play goals and four game-winning goal...
