2. FEELING SWEEPY
The Flyers and Red Wings face off again in the back end of a home-and-home series after taking a 6-5 overtime win yesterday in Philadelphia... The Flyers will look for a sweep of the season series after winning the first two meetings of the year, both of which were decided by one goal... The Flyers are also looking for just their third series sweep of the Red Wings in a season of more than one game and first since 1982-83 (3-0-0) - The Flyers went 5-0-0 against Detroit in 1973-74.
3. GETTING OFFENSIVE
The Flyers have posted 11 goals in the last two games and have been one of the highest scoring offenses in the NHL since Jan. 14, which kicked off a streak of going 11-1-1... They are T-2nd in goals (50) in those 13 games and they average 3.85 GPG, while allowing just 2.61 GPG in that stretch... They also lead the NHL for the most power-play goals (14) in that span and have scored on the man advantage in four straight games entering tonight, going 5-for-16 (31.2%).
4. DETROIT ROCK CITY
The Red Wings return home where they have won three of their last four games, and six of their last seven home games have been decided by one goal, including their last three... Detroit leads the NHL for the most one-goal games (32), going 14-10-8 and with yesterday's game decided in overtime, the Red Wings are now tied for the NHL lead in games decided past regulation play (17)... Andreas Athanasiou has 14 of his 20 goals this season at home, while Jimmy Howard has 11 of his 17 wins on home ice for Detroit.
5. PLAYERS TO WATCH:
FLYERS (LW: #93 - Jakub Voracek)
Voracek keeps finding the scoresheet - he is currently riding a nine-game point streak where he's posted 11 points (4g-7a), which is the longest streak for a Flyer this season and should he make it 10-straight it would tie a career-high set from Oct. 22-Nov. 15, 2014... As a member of the Flyers, Voracek averages nearly a point per-game against the Red Wings with 16 points (5g-11a) in 17 games.
RED WINGS (LW: #59 - Tyler Bertuzzi)
Tallied a goal and an assist in yesterday's game, which was his return to the lineup after missing the previous seven games with injury... He now has eight points (4g-4a) in his last six games played... In just his second full season in the NHL, Bertuzzi has already doubled his goals this season (14) and has six more points (30) from his rookie campaign.
