Devils GM Ray Shero addressed the media Friday, kicking off the unofficial start of training camp. Shero discussed his expectations for his team this season and how New Jersey will reward competitiveness with opportunity at camp.
Below, some highlights of his interview. The full video is above.

Re-establish our game (1:00-2:00)
Shero is adamant about getting back to the style of New Jersey Devils hockey that was on display during his first season at the helm of the team. He believes that New Jersey needs to earn back its credibility and respect from other teams around the league.
Oh Boy-le (5:00-6:45)
Shero explains what the recruiting process was like when he convinced Brian Boyle to sign with New Jersey as a free agent. There is definitely a plan to maximize Boyle's potential, he says, as Boyle brings high character onto the ice and into the Devils' locker room.
Expectations? (7:00-8:15)
The Devils' GM is focused on becoming a more competitive team and making the fan base proud of the group that they are rooting for on the ice. Shero aims to start small, by getting out of the basement of the Metropolitan Division, before making brash predictions.
Taylor made to take another step (10:30-12:20)
Taylor Hall was a focus of Shero's media day scrum. Shero is looking for Hall to take a big step in Year 2 as a Devil, becoming a more consistent player and making those around him better.
