Devils forward Taylor Hall met with the media at the end of the season to talk about a number of topics. One that came up was his thoughts on the season Nico Hischier had. Despite not playing with Hall for a lot of the season, Hischier improved on his point-per-game pace with 47 points in 69 games versus 52 in 82 the year before. But Hall pointed out that where Hischier made his greatest strides in his observation was through leadership.
"It was great to see him wearing a letter," Hall began. "I've been through that process where you have to evolve not only on the ice but off with your habits and leadership.
"As he gets older and is able to play against the top lines, I thought he did a great job. I would have loved to have been by his side all season long but we had a ton of injuries and he stuck through it. No matter who was playing on his wings, he was an impact player. He's only 20, there's so much time and so much room for him to grow. The one thing he has going for him is he has a great work ethic and cares a lot.
"You're seeing a guy that can take on those top lines and can play. Not only play but do well against them, dominate at times. That was good to see."
