NEWARK, NJ-- Following a big road win over the NY Islanders Thursday night, select players hit the ice to prepare for Devils Saturday night game against the Colorado Avalanche.

14 players hit the ice including Kyle Palmieri, Nico Hischier, Louie Domingue, Blake Coleman and Wayne Simmonds.

Hughes missed last night's game due to an upper body injury but returned to skate today.

The team broke into smaller groups with some players working with the Devils assistants, and others working with Devils Skills Development Coordinator Ryan Murphy. There were no official lines or pairings, and all players wore the Devils red practice jerseys.

Towards the end of practice, Jack Hughes worked one-on-one with Assistant Coach Mike Grier, while a smaller group including Connor Carrick, Kevin Rooney, Jesper Boqvist and John Hayden worked with Murphy and Assistant Coach Peter Horachek.
