Metro and Monumental Sports and Entertainment today announced special late-night rail service to accommodate fans attending the official Caps Game 5 watch party at the Capital One Arena and surrounding streets around Gallery Place. Trains will run a full hour beyond Metro's regular weeknight closing time thanks to the Monumental partnership, which covers the $100,000 in additional expenses associated with keeping the 234-mile, 91-station transit system open.

The agreement is the first time the Metrorail system has ever extended hours for an away game as the Capitals stand one win away from their first-ever Stanley Cup win.
