Vancouver Canucks hockey will be played at Rogers Arena this Thursday when the team takes the ice against the Edmonton Oilers. Thursday kicks off Fan Fest, featuring player arrivals on the Blue Carpet from 3:00-4:00 p.m.
You can come to welcome the players to the rink, snap a photo, and maybe even score an autograph from your favourite player. We will also be celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Canucks for Kids Fund, which has raised more than $120,000,000 since its inception.

- The Oilers have already played two preseason games and play their final preseason game on Saturday, when they host the Calgary Flames.

The Story: Cutting it Close
It may just be preseason, but there are still decisions that need to be made before the Canucks get down to their final roster. General Manager Ryan Johnson announced 15 more roster cuts Wednesday afternoon as the Canucks' opening-day roster nears its final form.
One player who showed well through training camp and the first two preseason games was the 24th overall pick in the 2026 draft, Adam Novotný. The 18-year-old is returning to the OHL and will join the Peterborough Petes for his second season.
“You could see his ability to skate and get out of corners and accelerate. Obviously, demonstrated an incredible shot. And then as we went through camp, he played with that same level of confidence from right when he got to Penticton,” said Head Coach Manny Malhotra about the young forward.
“And in the games, obviously things get a little bit quicker, and feeling your way around the game takes some time, but he did a good job of adapting. Won some good puck battles, made some confident plays. Overall, he did a great job in his first campaign.”
