Dalpe selected to represent Monsters in 2019 AHL All-Star Classic

Forward Zac Dalpe from the Cleveland Monsters, Columbus' American Hockey League affiliate, has been selected to participate in the 2019 Lexus AHL All-Star Classic presented by MGM Springfield, the Monsters and AHL announced today. He is scheduled to represent the Monsters on the North Division All-Star squad at the event to be held January 27-28 at the MassMutual Center in Springfield, Massachusetts, home of the Springfield Thunderbirds.
Dalpe, 29, has recorded 14 goals and 13 assists for 27 points with 29 penalty minutes and a +4 plus/minus rating in 28 games with the Monsters this season. Serving as one of the team's assistant captains, he leads the club in goals, points (tied), power-play goals (four, tied) and game-winning goals (two, tied). Scheduled to make his AHL-All-Star Classic debut, Dalpe has posted 122-120-242, 162 penalty minutes and a +5 plus/minus rating in 333 career AHL games with the Monsters, Iowa Wild, Rochester Americans, Utica Comets, Charlotte Checkers and Albany River Rats.

The native of Paris, Ontario has also notched 12-13-25 with 36 penalty minutes in 141 career NHL games with the Blue Jackets, Minnesota Wild, Buffalo Sabres, Vancouver Canucks and Carolina Hurricanes. He collected his first point as a Jacket with an assist in his 2018-19 season debut on November 15 vs. the Florida Panthers and has 0-1-1 and 13 penalty minutes in 13 career games with the club. Originally Carolina's second round pick, 45th overall, in the 2008 NHL Draft, the former Ohio State University standout was claimed off waivers by Columbus from Minnesota on February 27, 2017.
The 2019 AHL All-Star Skill Competition takes place on Sunday, Jan. 27 (7 p.m. ET) and will pit the All-Stars from the two Eastern Conference divisions against the two from the two Western Conference divisions in seven skills events. The 2019 Lexus AHL All-Star Classic features the four divisions in a 3-on-3 round-robin tournament on Monday, Jan. 28 (7 p.m. ET) with the two teams with the best records facing off for the championship.
