COLUMBUS, OHIO - The Columbus Blue Jackets have loaned for the purposes of conditioning defenseman Dalton Prout to the Cleveland Monsters, Columbus' American Hockey League affiliate, club General Manager Jarmo Kekalainen announced today.

Prout, 26, has recorded eight penalty minutes with a +2 plus/minus rating in eight games with the Blue Jackets this season. He has collected 6-24-30 with 257 penalty minutes in 217 career NHL games with Columbus, including setting career highs in goals, points and penalty minutes in 2015-16 with 3-6-9 and 102 penalty minutes in 64 games. The Kingsville, Ontario native has also notched 5-20-25, 138 penalty minutes and is +1 in 117 career AHL games with the Springfield Falcons from 2011-14. He was Columbus' sixth round pick, 154th overall, in the 2010 NHL Draft.
The Blue Jackets, who have gone 5-0-1 in the past six games to improve to 15-5-4 on the season, return to action on Friday when they visit the Detroit Red Wings. Game time at Joe Louis Arena is 7:30 p.m. ET.
