Joonas Korpisalo recalled from Cleveland (AHL)

Club also assigns Anton Forsberg to Monsters

COLUMBUS, OHIO - The Columbus Blue Jackets have recalled goaltender Joonas Korpisalo from the American Hockey League's Cleveland Monsters and assigned goaltender Anton Forsberg to the club's AHL affiliate, club General Manager Jarmo Kekalainen announced today.

Korpisalo, 22, is 3-1-0 with a 3.57 goals-against average and .893 save percentage in five games with the Blue Jackets this season. He is also 7-5-3 with a 2.67 goals-against average and .909 save percentage with the Monsters after going 1-0-1 with a 1.39 goals-against average and .952 save percentage (59-of-62) in a two-game series vs. the Manitoba Moose this past weekend. 

The Pori, Finland native made his NHL debut in 2015-16, going 16-11-4 with a 2.60 goals-against average and .920 save percentage in 31 contests. Selected by Columbus in the third round, 62nd overall, in the 2012 NHL Draft, he has registered a 15-15-5 mark with a 2.56 GAA, .908 SV% and two SO in 36 career AHL games with Lake Erie/Cleveland over the past two seasons. Korpisalo also went 6-2 with a 2.96 GAA and .898 SV% in nine playoff games a year ago to help the Monsters capture the Calder Cup championship.

Forsberg, 24, is 14-10-2 with a 2.23 goals-against average, .927 save percentage and a shutout in 28 games with the Monsters this season. The AHL All-Star is second in the AHL in save percentage, fifth-T in goals-against average and 10th in wins. 

The Härnösand, Sweden native owns a 60-28-8 record with a 2.19 goals-against average, .923 save percentage and six shutouts in 103 career AHL games with the Monsters and Springfield Falcons. He led the Monsters to the 2016 AHL Calder Cup after finishing with a 9-0-0 record, 1.34 GAA, .949 SV% and two shutouts in 10 contests. Columbus' seventh round selection, 188th overall, in the 2011 NHL Draft, he has posted a 1-8-0 record with a 4.02 goals-against and .879 save percentage in 10 career NHL games with the Blue Jackets, including stopping 27-of-31 shots in a 5-3 loss at Carolina in his season debut on January 10.
