When and where did your passion for hockey start?
"I would say in my backyard, just shooting pucks with the stick in my hand and just loving it."
Why did you choose to commit to the University of Wisconsin?
"I went there two years ago--that was my first time there--and I saw the campus and met the coaching staff, I mean it's just a great coaching staff there with Tony Granato. I was just like, 'Wow, I want to come here and play for Wisconsin.'"
What are you looking forward to the most about playing for Wisconsin?
"Just to be in the league. The Big 10 is a great league and just to be good there and to make an impact my first year there and to be effective."
Do you have any pregame rituals or superstitions?
"Yeah. I always tape my sticks and just the little things in warmups, I always stretch my left leg before my right and things like that."
How did you learn how to speak English so well?
"It was three years ago, I went to Austria to play for Red Bull and we had a lot of Canadians, so just hanging out with them and talking with them helped me out for sure."
What is your favorite activity to do right now when you aren't playing hockey?
"I would say tennis or fishing. I am a big fisher, so I really enjoy it."
What have you liked about Denver so far?
"It's been great. I haven't seen a whole lot other than the arena and the hotel on the first day, but all the mountains and all of that, it's looking pretty."
Who do you base your game off of?
"I would say Jack Eichel. Big body, skates well, shoots well, a lot of skill. I love watching him, he's a player I kind of want to play the same way as because he's a great player."
What was it like to represent your team at the U-18 World Championship and win gold?
"It was amazing. I mean you know it's a once in a lifetime event. It was great and we had a great team and a great group of guys. It was our last moment all together as the under 18 team, so it was pretty amazing."
Do you play any video games?
"No. I am really bad at video games."
What is your best skill on the ice?
"Skating. I'm a good skater. I have a lot of speed and I mean turns and all that, I am really good at those."
