The Colorado Avalanche faces off against the San Jose Sharks in an EA Sports' NHL 20 game simulation at virtual Pepsi Center on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. MT.
Colorado is coming off a thrilling 5-4 overtime victory against the Carolina Hurricanes in last week's digital contest. Nathan MacKinnon's avatar ended the game with a power-play tally in OT to complete his three-point performance (two goals and an assist).
The real-life Avalanche won each of the two outings it played against the Sharks during the 2019-20 NHL regular season, including by a 4-3 score in the most recent meeting on March 8 in San Jose. The teams were scheduled to wrap up their season series on March 17 in Denver.
Wednesday's simulated game once again includes commentary from Altitude TV broadcasters Marc Moser and Peter McNab, as well as many features that are unique to the in-arena experience at Pepsi Center. Viewers will be able to stream the contest on the Avalanche's Twitch.tv channel, as well as on the team's Facebook, Twitter and YouTube accounts.
