Gabriel Landeskog Los Angeles Kings 2021 March 14

The Colorado Avalanche begins a back-to-back set at the Los Angeles Kings this evening at Staples Center.
This is Colorado's ninth consecutive-night series this season, with the team having gone 7-1-0 in the first game and 5-0-3 in the second. The club has swept its last three back-to-backs, tying a franchise record for consecutive sweeps (sixth time).

Goaltenders Philipp Grubauer and Jonas Johansson are likely to split the two games in net against the Kings, but head coach Jared Bednar did not say which one will start tonight.
Bednar did say after morning skate that there could be some changes to the Avalanche's game personnel after falling 3-2 at the San Jose Sharks on Wednesday.
"We're still contemplating our lineup here," Bednar said. "A couple guys that are banged up a little bit, so still just trying to make some last-minute decisions on it."
The Avs are 3-1-0 against the Kings this season and sport a 1-1-0 mark in Los Angeles, previous playing at Staples Center on Jan. 19-21. The teams' last games against one another were on March 12-14 in Denver, outings that Colorado won 2-0 and 4-1, respectively.
Below is the Avalanche's projected lineup based on the forward combinations and defensive pairings from the start of Wednesday's game at the San Jose Sharks. They are subject to change.
