At age 24, Timmins joined his third NHL team when he was traded to the Toronto Maple Leafs by the Arizona Coyotes on Nov. 23, 2022, for forward prospect Curtis Douglas, and signed a two-year contract with the Maple Leafs on Feb. 9, 2023.
Selected by the Colorado Avalanche in the second round (No. 32) of the 2017 NHL Draft, Timmins had seven assists in 41 regular-season games for the Avalanche and Coyotes and no points in 12 Stanley Cup Playoff games. The native of Thorold, Ontario, had 34 points (four goals, 30 assists) in 52 games for Tucson and Colorado in the American Hockey League, and won gold with Canada at the 2018 IIHF World Junior Championship, where he had five points (one goal, four assists) in seven games.
