Today, Utah Hockey Club announced that forward Lawson Crouse will serve as the associate captain for the 2024-25 season. Select players from Utah’s leadership committee will rotate as the third alternate captain throughout the year.
“Lawson is a tremendous person and player and has been a great leader for this group for many years. We are very pleased to name Lawson as our associate captain," said Bill Armstrong, general manager of Utah Hockey Club. "We’re extremely fortunate to have a strong leadership group with high character people in our dressing room, and we are confident that these players will do an excellent job leading our team on and off the ice.”
Crouse, 27, is the longest tenured player who relocated to Utah from Arizona. He was also the Coyotes’ most active player in the community for many seasons, earning recognition as the team’s 2021-22 Man of the Year. The 6-foot-4, 215-pound forward has recorded 103-94-197 in 504 career NHL games with Arizona, and his 1,383 hits since making his debut in 2016-17 rank 12th in that category among all NHL forwards over that span. Crouse has also reached the 20-goal mark in each of the last three seasons (2021-24), netting a career-high 24 goals in 2022-23.
The Mt. Brydges, Ontario native has previously served as an alternate captain for the Coyotes (2022-24), Team Canada (2016 IIHF World Junior Championship, 2023 IIHF World Championship) and the Ontario Hockey League’s Kingston Frontenacs (2015-16).
