The Basics
Prima is from Yekaterinburg, Russia, the fourth-largest city in the country. He grew up playing youth hockey for his hometown’s organization, Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg. He played in Russia until the 2024-25 season.
Road to the Draft
During his junior hockey career, Prima played for two different Russian teams. During the 2023-24 campaign, he played for Yunost Yekaterinburg’s U16 and U17 teams. The next year, during the 2024-25 season, he played for AKM Novomoskovsk’s U17 and MHL teams. However, during that season, Prima transferred to the Black Bear Academy and played for their 16U AAA and 18U AAA teams. The 2025-26 was his first time playing in North America.
Last year, Prima split his time between the NAHL with the Minot Minotauros and the USHL with the Omaha Lancers. With Minot, he played 28 games, scored eight goals, and added 18 assists for 26 points. With Omaha, Prima had six goals and eight assists for 14 points through 17 games. Utah selected Prima with the 211th overall pick this summer and he became one of the newest members of the Mammoth.
