Year in Review: Clayton Keller

In his second year with the Utah Mammoth, captain Clayton Keller continued to lead on and off the ice. Let’s take a look back at Keller’s season and the 2025-26 campaign!

On the Ice

Keller had a strong second season with the Mammoth. Through all 82 regular season games, the captain scored 26 goals and added 62 assists for 88 points. He averaged 19:05 of playing time each game. Keller’s 62 assists were a new career-high, as was his +21 plus/minus rating. Keller also set career-highs with his six game-winning goals and four overtime goals. 

This was Keller’s fourth 82 game season in his 10 year NHL career. He has scored 20 or more goals in the last five-straight seasons and averaged over 19 minutes TOI in that span. For the third time in the last four years, Keller has recorded 80 or more points.

In the playoffs, Keller played in all six of Utah’s postseason games. He had one goal and four assists for five total points, which tied the team lead. Keller averaged 21:29 of playing time in the playoffs, which was two and a half minutes more than his regular season average.

On Oct. 23. Keller reached a significant milestone when he tallied his 200^th career NHL goal in his hometown of St. Louis.

In early April, against the Vancouver Canucks, Keller recorded his third career hat trick in a 7-4 win. 

At the end of the regular season, Keller won two of the team’s end of season awards, the Utah Mammoth Honors. Keller was named the Team MVP by his teammates and received the team’s Leading Scorer Award.

Milano Cortina 2026

2026 started off on the right foot for Keller when he was named to the U.S. Men’s Olympic team.

In February, Keller won gold with Team USA and added another gold medal to his already impressive international resume. He is one of only two American players to win a gold medal at each level of international hockey: U18 World Championship, U20 World Championship, Men’s World Championship, and the Winter Olympics.

Recognition Around the Sport

Keller was recognized multiple times throughout the year. For his success with the Mammoth and Team USA, Keller was named the Governor’s State of Sport Awards Professional Male Athlete of the Year.

In April, Keller was named Utah’s Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy nominee for his perseverance and dedication.

Guest at Practice

Clayton might not be the most famous Keller now. In January, Lucky Keller, Clayton’s dog, hung out with the social media team and even took some photos following practice.
