San Jose Sharks forward Tomas Hertl sustained a right-knee injury in Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final against the Pittsburgh Penguins but will not need surgery.
Hertl said he injured his knee in a collision with Penguins forward Patric Hornqvist in the third period of San Jose's 2-1 overtime loss at Consol Energy Center on June 1. The injury prevented Hertl from playing in the final four games of the Cup Final.

Hertl had 11 points (six goals, five assists) and one game-winning goal in 20 Stanley Cup Playoff games. His only goal in the Cup Final came in the Sharks' 3-2 loss in Game 1.
The Penguins defeated the Sharks 3-1 in Game 6 at SAP Center on Sunday to win the Stanley Cup.
