Sens head coach Guy Boucher met with the media earlier today and shared some updates on his line-up which is a little more banged up than he anticipated.
"It seems we didn't come away as unscathed as we thought last night," said Boucher. "Chlapik won't be able to go tonight and we know that Stone won't be able to go tonight either."
There was a slight possibility that Mark Stone would play tonight night but it appears that's no longer the case. The right winger's availability to return prior to the NHL All-Star break is still something to monitor though.
"There's a possibility for Thursday," Boucher shared. "It's really the swelling. It's not a structural problem that we have to wait for it to heal. It's the inflamation."
With Chlapik and Stone out (along with Jean-Gabriel Pageau and Nate Thompson not making the trip), McCormick is expected to play tonight should he make it to St. Louis for puck drop. Erik Burgdoerfer is the lone extra skater for the Sens after being recalled from Belleville yesterday so an 11 forward and 7 defenceman deployment is still possible.
"The only chance of that is if Max doesn't get here on time," said the coach. "Then we could go with 11 and 7 but right now we'd rather go with 12 and 6."
