With the Senators moving out a few roster players today prior to the NHL's Trade Deadline (more on that below), tonight's line-up is still in a bit of a state of flux. Some news we can pass along is that Thomas Chabot appears to be good to play this evening after exiting Saturday's game against the Canadiens with a lower body injury.
"I got saved by the boards a little bit," Chabot said about the hit he took that forced him out against Montreal. "I skated yesterday and then joined the boys on the trip feeling pretty good. Obviously, I wouldn't be here if we had any doubts that I wouldn't be able to play."
We could also see the return of Bobby Ryan tonight as well. Sens head coach D.J. Smith said that he believes there is a 90% chance that Ryan could be re-inserted into the line-up for the first time since entering the NHL/NHLPA player assistance program back in November.
"I knew that there was a possibility that the date could get moved forward to today," said Ryan after today's optional skate. "With what happened this morning, I guess it moves you a little bit forward but I was hoping to play one of these games on the road anyways."
