The Sens are in New Jersey set to take on the Devils and we've got 5 key things to get you ready for tonight's game.

1. Borowiecki buries

He's good for at least one a season and this year Mark Borowiecki delivered early. Midway through the first period last night some great work along the boards by Jean-Gabriel Pageau freed a puck up for Mike Hoffman in the slot. He quickly moved it along to a pinching Borowiecki who then attempted to hit Tom Pyatt with a pass at the side of the crease but the puck was deflected off a defender's stick and into the Flyers' net for Borowiecki's first goal of the season.

"I was playing the odds and figured Pyatt had a better chance to score than I did," joked Borowiecki after the game. "That's actually something we work on in practice a lot but I can't take any credit for that goal. It was all Pageau and a great forecheck by him. I was just lucky to be on the receiving end of it."
Borowiecki has finished each of the last 4 seasons with exactly 1 goal so with 71 games remaining on the schedule, he's put himself in a prime position to set a new career high.

2. First NHL points for Chlapik and DiDomenico

With the abundance of injuries the Sens have amassed early in the season, the team has had to rely on some youngsters to help fill the gaps and last night they received some support from Filip Chlapik and Chris DiDomenico in the form of their first points in the NHL.
Chlapik, who made his National Hockey League debut last night, and DiDomenico, who spent nearly 5 seasons overseas, are each known to have an offensive element to their game and the coach rewarded them with some power play time right off the hop.
Just 1:26 into Thursday's game against the Flyers and on the man advantage, DiDomenico swept a clean face-off win to Chlapik who moved the puck back to Phaneuf at the point. One seeing-eye shot later and the two recent call-ups found their names on an NHL score sheet for the first time.

"Last year we didn't have a single point from any of the call-ups and tonight both call-ups get a point each," said head coach Guy Boucher during his post-game media availability last night. "That's the type of depth you have to have to be able to hope for a playoff spot."

3. Road Warriors

Small sample size alert but the Sens are a perfect 3-0-0 on the road to start the season. All three of their games away from home came on their road trip through Western Canada in mid-October where they downed the Canucks, Flames and Oilers over a 5-day span. Ottawa has only surrendered 3 goals away from Canadian Tire Centre while scoring a whopping 14 and their special teams have been on fire on the road with their power play clicking at 31.3% (3rd overall) and their penalty kill at an unblemished 100% (1st overall).
Kyle Turris, who has been ruled out for tonight's game with the flu, has done the most damage offensively for the Sens on the road this season compiling 7 points (2 goals, 5 assists) in just 3 games played.

4. Previous meeting

These teams last faced off just a little over a week ago in Ottawa with the Devils rallying to erase a 2-goal deficit in the third period before ultimately ending the game in overtime. Erik Karlsson lead the way offensively for the Sens recording his first 3 points of the season (all assists) while Craig Anderson was peppered with 46 shots in defeat.
After the game, the Sens coach gave credit to the Devils and admitted he wasn't surprised by their strong start to the season.
"There's a lot of discipline in their game and there's a lot of speed that's creating their success right now," Boucher said of the Devils after the game. "They're backed up by good goaltending too so we're not surprised at what we're seeing. We saw it in the exhibition game and every other game they've played this year."
