LIVE CHAMPIONSHIP EVENT AT LITTLE CAESARS ARENA

WATCH CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH

The Red Wings will sponsor 14 online 1-on-1 qualifying tournaments and two live qualifiers at  High Score eSports in Ferndale, Mich. All tournaments will be played on the GamerSaloon tournament platform, with each qualifying tournament winner invited to Little Caesars Arena for a 1-on-1 live event on Sunday, Feb. 24. The championship game will take place after the Red Wings vs. San Jose Sharks game at Little Caesars Arena, with a cash prize pool of $8,000.

Congrats to our champion: Johnwaynee90

After 16 online qualifiers throughout January and February, the Detroit Red Wings hosted their first-ever Esports Face-Off live championship event at Little Caesars Arena on Sunday, February 24, with $8,000 in cash and prizes on the line.

27-year-old Alaska native John Wayne Casagranda (Johnwaynee90), came out victorious in the live finale, defeating his opponent, 5-1, to earn the grand prize of $5,000.

Tyler Bertuzzi x Gamers Outreach

Gamers Outreach is a video game industry nonprofit organization that provides digital recreation to children in hospitals throughout the country.

Tyler Bertuzzi and Gamers Outreach have paired up to raise money for a Red Wings-branded "Go Kart," a portable, medical-grade video game kiosk for Children's Hospital of Michigan. Fans are encouraged to make a donation to Gamers Outreach to help give the gift of gaming.
