Paige & Jack discuss the keys to tonight's matchup in Los Angeles

FIRST PERIOD

12:44: EDM GOAL | Leon Draisaitl - Connor McDavid, Evan Bouchard

ONE-TOUCHED AWAY BY LEON! The German wastes no time going to Darcy Kuemper's right side and letting go of a quick release off the pass made by McDavid to sneak it inside the post on the Kings' netminder to open the scoring early.

McDavid celebrates his 800th career game with his first assist, extending his NHL scoring lead in the process while being followed closely by Bouchard, who's right behind him after getting the secondary helper. EDM 1, LAK 0

Draisaitl delivers the quick finish to open the scoring in Los Angeles

QUICK STAT: McDavid became the seventh player in franchise history to reach the 800-game mark, joining Kevin Lowe (1,037 GP), Ryan Nugent-Hopkins (1,031 GP), Ryan Smyth (971 GP), Leon Draisaitl (861 GP), Mark Messier (851 GP) and Glenn Anderson (845 GP).

His 1,236 career points (413G, 823A) are the third most in NHL history by a player through their first 800 games in the league behind only Wayne Gretzky (1,892 – Dec. 2, 1989) and Mario Lemieux (1,580 – Jan. 12, 2002).

11:44: EDM GOAL | Vasily Podkolzin (PP) - Connor McDavid, Evan Bouchard

STAY HOT, PODZY! The Russian has already scored his SIXTH goal of the season by finishing McDavid's rebound on the power play after Drew Doughty was guilty of tripping Kasperi Kapanen to send the Oilers to their first man advantage.

McDavid and Bouchard mirrored their contributions on Draisaitl's opening goal, with both getting two assists to give the Oilers an early 2-0 lead before the 10-minute mark. A dream start for Edmonton in their quest to finish the perfect road trip. EDM 2, LAK 0

Podkolzin scores on the rebound with the man advantage to make it 2-0

QUICK STAT: Podkolzin has extended his already career-long point streak from five games to six games thanks to his first-period goal, and he's racked up eight points (6G, 2A) so far on his point streak.

Since last year’s postseason, the Russian has tallied at least a point in each of his last eight games (8G, 2A) and in 11 of his last 12 games (9G, 5A).

4:12: EDM GOAL | Connor McDavid - Ty Emberson, Jason Dickinson

CALL 1-800-MCDAVID! IT'S ALL OILERS EARLY ON IN THE CAPTAIN'S MILESTONE GAME! After the Kings had their best shift of the period, it's Ty Emberson who flips it through the neutral zone to McDavid at the Kings' blueline, dropping it down to his stick as he splits the defence before rounding Darcy Kuemper to slide it inside the post.

Thanks to his three first-period points, McDavid is now riding a six-game point streak (4G, 12A) and leads all NHLers in assists (12) and points (16) so far this season. EDM 3, LAK 0

SECOND PERIOD

2:30: LAK GOAL | Brandt Clarke - Scott Laughton, Trevor Moore

The Kings capitalize on a missed opportunity for Draisaitl to exit the defensive zone with the puck and get a bounce on a shot from Clarke that goes in over Levi. EDM 3, LAK 1

0.0: Levi makes a great reaction save with the blocker late in the period with the Kings on the power play. Los Angeles outshoots Edmonton by a 17-5 margin in the frame.
