PLAYOFF HISTORY

The only time the Oilers and Sharks have met in the post-season was in the 2005-06 Western Conference Semifinals.

The Sharks gained a two-game series lead as hosts at HP Pavilion, winning consecutive games by a score of 2-1. Down but returning to an energetic Rexall Place, The Oil took over the series in Game 3 after Shawn Horcoff propelled the then-Copper & Blue to a 3-2 triple overtime victory.

The club didn't look back following Horcoff's heroics. Edmonton doubled San Jose 6-3 in Game 4 - after overcoming a 3-1 deficit - and Game 5. Dwayne Roloson made 24 saves and posted a shutout in the team's 2-0 series-deciding Game 6, taking the series 4-2.

Edmonton advanced to face the Anaheim Ducks in the Western Conference Finals.
