Oilers Rookie Writers Contest

We are excited to announce the launch of the Oilers Rookie Writers Contest in partnership with the Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation!

Using the story template provided below, we invite kids aged 8 - 13 years old in Oil Country to submit a short story featuring the Edmonton Oilers, Hunter, and/or Rogers Place. The stories should focus on how the power and spirit of hockey can inspire kids and make a difference in our communities. The submitted story should be 500 words or less.

The deadline to enter this contest is Sunday, February 25, 2024 at 11:59 pm MT.

Grand Prize Winner

The Grand Prize winner of the Rookie Writers Contest will have their short story animated and shown on the scoreboard before the Oilers Fan Appreciation game on Monday April 15. The winner will also receive four tickets to attend the game with their family along with a meet and greet with Oilers mascot, Hunter the Lynx!

Additional Winners

Secondary winners of the Rookie Writers Contest will receive two tickets to upcoming games throughout the remainder of the season.
