Nicklas Jensen

New York Rangers General Manager Jeff Gorton announced today that the team has recalled forward Nicklas Jensen from the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Jensen, 23, has skated in 21 games with the Wolf Pack this season, registering eight goals and seven assists for 15 points, along with 18 penalty minutes. He leads Hartford in shots on goal (68), is tied for the team lead in goals, ranks second on the Wolf Pack in points, and is tied for fourth on the team in assists in 2016-17. Jensen has tallied a point in each of his last three games with Hartford (two goals, two assists), and he registered two points (one goal, one assist) in his last game with the Wolf Pack on Dec. 4 at Toronto. Jensen has notched at least one point in 12 of 21 games this season.
The 6-3, 216-pounder has skated in 228 career AHL games over parts of six seasons (2011-12 - 2016-17), registering 62 goals and 47 assists for 109 points, along with 129 penalty minutes. Jensen has recorded 40 points (23 goals, 17 assists) in 62 games with the Wolf Pack since he made his debut with Hartford last season.
Jensen has skated in 24 career NHL games over parts of three seasons (2012-13 - 2014-15), all with Vancouver, registering three goals and three assists for six points, along with 10 penalty minutes. Jensen made his NHL debut on Apr. 1, 2013 at San Jose and he registered his first career NHL assist/point on Mar. 10, 2014 vs. the NY Islanders.
The Herning, Denmark, native has represented his country in several tournaments. In his most recent tournament, Jensen recorded five goals and two assists for seven points, along with six penalty minutes in eight games while representing Denmark at the 2016 IIHF World Championship. He was selected as one of Denmark's three best players in the tournament. Jensen tied for first among all skaters in the tournament in game-winning goals (two), and he led Denmark in goals and points.
Jensen was acquired by the Rangers from Vancouver, along with a sixth round pick in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft, in exchange for Emerson Etem on Jan. 8, 2016. He was selected by the Canucks in the first round, 29th overall, of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.
