KEY FACTS:
• Arizona has won two of the past three games played between these teams at Gila River Arena.
• The Coyotes, who beat Washington on Friday night, have posted a 0-4-1 record in the second game of back-to-back games this season.
• Antti Raanta will start in goal after watching backup Scott Wedgewood stop 15 of 17 shots in a 3-2 overtime win over Washington on Friday. Raanta is seeking his first victory since Nov. 20 at Toronto.
• Rookie Clayton Keller will enter the game with a four-game point streak that includes two goals and three assists. Keller ranks second among NHL rookies in goals (13) and third in points (28). Meanwhile, Christian Fischer, who has scored a goal in back-to-back games, ranks ninth among NHL rookies with nine goals.
• Anthony Duclair is expected to be back in the lineup after being a healthy scratch the past two games. Duclair has scored one goal in 11 games played since notching a hat trick vs. Ottawa on Nov. 18.
"I think Duke's still learning," Head Coach Rick Tocchet said. "You have to give effort. You've got to know the system. You've got to know where you're going. It's not on your own program. I'm not saying it's just him. I'm not trying to pick on him. I just don't think the effort's there, quite frankly, on every night."
• The Coyotes on Saturday recalled defenseman Andrew Campbell from the American Hockey League on Saturday morning and sent defenseman Joel Hanley and forward Nick Merkley back to the AHL. Campbell is the captain of Arizona's AHL team in Tucson. The Coyotes did not stage a morning skate on Saturday so it's unclear if Campbell will play Saturday vs. Colorado.
• The Avs are 4-2-1 in their past seven games, but are in last place in the Central Division standings, four points behind sixth-place Minnesota. Colorado ranks last in the NHL in face-off winning percentage at 44.1. Forward Nathan MacKinnon ranks 10th in the NHL with 40 points (15 goals, 25 assists) and owns a four-game point streak. Forward Mikko Rantanen will enter tonight's game with a five-game point/assist streak. Defenseman Erik Johnson is expected to return to the lineup after serving a two-game suspension for a boarding penalty on Tampa Bay's Vladislav Namestnikov on Dec. 16. Goalie Semyon Varlamov is 3-1-1 in his past five starts and has allowed just 12 goals in those five games.
