MONTREAL -- The Philadelphia Flyers are focused on getting a win as they prepare to play the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 2019 Coors Light NHL Stadium Series at Lincoln Financial Field on Saturday (8 p.m. ET; NBC, SN360, SN1, TVAS2).

Philadelphia is 12-3-1 in the past 16 games and trails the Carolina Hurricanes by seven points for the second wild card into the Stanley Cup Playoffs from the Eastern Conference.
The Flyers lost 5-1 at the Montreal Canadiens on Thursday, their second straight defeat following a three-game winning streak. They are wary of losing focus of what's at stake in the playoff race when they host Pittsburgh on Saturday.
"It's like another game for us," forward Sean Couturier said. "We're battling for two points and they're as important as any game. Obviously, there's a lot surrounding the outdoor game, and maybe some distractions, but we need to be focused on getting the job done and getting two points."

Flyers' poor defense puts them in a hole vs. Montreal

Motivation will come in many forms for Philadelphia, not the least of which will be facing the Penguins, their cross-state and Metropolitan Division rivals, in front of a huge crowd on home ice with Pennsylvania bragging rights hanging in the balance.
"Every time we play them emotions seem to be higher, and it kind of brings the best out of everyone and we'll have to be ready to battle," said Couturier, who will play his third outdoor NHL game.
Flyers rookie goaltender Carter Hart played an outdoor game for Canada against the United States at the 2018 IIHF World Junior Championship in Buffalo.
"A lot of us in this room have played in an outdoor game," Hart said. "I know I'm lucky to have played in one last year and experienced what it's about.
"I know that the last two games haven't been our best, but we'll put this behind us, go back to work (Friday) and get ready for Saturday against Pittsburgh."
Flyers captain Claude Giroux has played in each of Philadelphia's three previous outdoor NHL games, three losses, including 2-1 in overtime to the Boston Bruins in the 2010 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic at Fenway Park.

Giroux scored a goal in the Flyers' 3-2 loss to the New York Rangers in the 2012 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic at Citizens Bank Park and had an assist in a 4-2 loss to the Penguins in the 2017 Coors Light NHL Stadium Series at Heinz Field.
"There should be a lot of atmosphere in the building," Couturier said. "Philly fans are always emotional and there's always a lot of atmosphere. And in front of 70,000, it should be a lot of fun, so hopefully we can put on a good show, a good effort and get a win."
