MSE Foundation Auction Raises $18,300 for The Human Rights Campaign

Monumental Sports & Entertainment Foundation raised $18,300 for the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Foundation through a Pride-themed auction that concluded Feb. 11 during the Capitals vs. Kings game.

Led by goaltender Braden Holtby, select players signed sticks wrapped in rainbow-color 'Pride Tape' and rainbow Caps pucks. All proceeds benefited the HRC Foundation's Youth Well-Being Project to promote safety, inclusion and well-being for LGBTQ youth in Washington, D.C.

The
Human Rights Campaign Foundation
improves the lives of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) people by working to increase understanding and encourage the adoption of LGBTQ-inclusive policies and practices. They build support for LGBTQ people among families and friends, co-workers and employers, pastors and parishioners, doctors and teachers, neighbors and the general public. Through their programs and projects, they are enhancing the lived experiences of LGBTQ people and their families, as they change hearts and minds across America and around the globe.

The Washington Capitals are continuing to support the Hockey is for Everyone™ initiative and honoring Black History Month with several events and initiatives throughout February.
Hockey is for Everyone™ is a league-wide platform that celebrates grassroots hockey and the game's growing diversity.
