Mark Scheifele wants Teemu Selanne to play for Jets

After Teemu Selanne's dominant performance in the 2016 Heritage Classic Alumni Game, Jets center Mark Scheifele had an interesting idea for the Finnish Flash.

Selanne scored two goals, including the game winner on a penalty shot with 3.6 seconds left, and had five points in the Winnipeg Jets' 6-5 victory against the Edmonton Oilers Saturday.

Scheifele was hoping Selanne could lend some of that scoring touch to the present-day Jets, including Laine, the biggest Finnish NHL prospect since Selanne, for the 2016 Tim Hortons NHL Heritage Classic on Sunday.
Selanne, who retired in 2014 after scoring 684 goals in 21 NHL seasons with the Jets, Anaheim Ducks, San Jose Sharks and Colorado Avalanche, joked to a Finnish reporter Friday that he'd need two weeks to train to return to the NHL.

Selanne has proven he still has a capable shot and admitted he was a fan of Laine's after watching him score a hat trick against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Wednesday.
