Lightning recall defenseman Luke Witkowski

Tampa Bay has recalled defenseman Luke Witkowski from their American Hockey League affiliate, the Syracuse Crunch.

TAMPA BAY - The Tampa Bay Lightning have recalled defenseman Luke Witkowski from the Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League Thursday, vice president and general manager Steve Yzerman announced.

Witkowski, 26, has appeared in six games with the Lightning this season, posting two penalty minutes and six shots on goal. The Holland, Michigan native has skated in 26 career NHL games, all with the Lightning over the past three seasons, recording 21 penalty minutes. The Crunch captain has played in 11 games with Syracuse this season, notching three assists and 18 penalty minutes.
