TAMPA BAY - The Tampa Bay Lightning have reassigned defenseman
Slater Koekkoek
to the Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League today, vice president and general manager Steve Yzerman announced.

Koekkoek, 22, has appeared in 17 games with the Lightning this season, posting four assists and a plus-2 rating to go along with six penalty minutes. The 6-foot-2, 193-pound defenseman recorded a pair of assists in his season debut on November 1 at the New York Islanders. In 29 career NHL games, all with the Lightning over the past two seasons, Koekkoek has registered five assists. The Mountain, Ontario native has also skated in five games with the Crunch this season, notching a pair of helpers.
The native of Winchester, Ontario was originally selected by Tampa Bay in the first round, 10th overall, at the 2012 NHL Draft.
