HOCKEY FIGHTS CANCER NIGHT
Tonight is Hockey Fights Cancer Night at the 'Dome. Proceeds from both the Flames Foundation 50-50 raffle sales and Hockey Fights Cancer apparel available in FanAttic stores during October, to Hockey Fights Cancer. Last season, the Flames Foundation's 50-50 proceeds directed over $25,000 to the cause.
In support of this campaign, select players will sport lavender-coloured tape on their sticks while all players will wear the Hockey Fights Cancer helmet decals.
Additionally, the Flames have partnered with the Alberta Children's Hospital Foundation for a special pre-game ceremony that will recognize five children who are cancer survivors or continue to fight this disease. The Flames Foundation will also host a child from the Alberta Children's Hospital at every home game throughout the duration of the initiative that will include lower-bowl tickets and a post-game meet and greet with a player.
Lavender, which represents awareness for all cancers, continues to be the designated color for the initiative and will be worn by the hockey community throughout the campaign.
