GLENDALE --The Coyotes will try to continue their mastery of Edmonton on Wednesday night when they host the Oilers at Gila River Arena. The puck drops at 7:30 p.m. Arizona time.
Arizona (11-16-5) will enter the game riding a 25-game point streak (21-0-4) vs. Edmonton. It's the longest point streak against one opponent in franchise history and is tied for the sixth longest in NHL history. The League record for such a streak is 34 games by Montreal vs. Washington. The Coyotes last lost to the Oilers in regulation on Jan. 25, 2011.

"For some reason we play well against these guys," defenseman Michael Stone said. "They can really put the puck in the net, and they thrive on odd-man rushes and turnovers, so when we play these guys that's something that we focus on. I'm not saying that we don't focus on that in every game, but against these guys you've really got to control the puck."
Goalie Mike Smith has played a huge role in the streak. He's 15-1-1 with a 2.24 goals-against average and a .928 save percentage in 19 career games vs. Edmonton.
Forward Radim Vrbata leads the Coyotes in goals (eight), assists (12) and points (20), and his next shot on goal will be his team-leading 100th.
Captain Shane Doan is set to play in his 1,499th game, which will tie him with Mike Modano for 17th place on the NHL's all-time games played list.
Rookie Brendan Perlini will be back in the lineup after being a healthy scratch on Monday vs. Calgary for the first time since being recalled from the American Hockey League.

Christian Dvorak notched a goal and an assist in Monday's game vs. Calgary. He leads Arizona rookies with 11 points (three goals, eight assists), and his plus-4 rating is tops on the team.
"You have to realize they're a good team," Head Coach Dave Tippett said of the Oilers. "You look at the depth and the offensive depth that they have up front is pretty strong with arguably one of the top players in the world with (Connor) McDavid. You have to gear your game to make sure you give yourself a chance to win. That's what we're going to try to do tonight."
Edmonton (17-12-5), which has won two games in a row, is one of just two teams in the Western Conference that has scored 100 goals. Chicago has 101.
The Oilers know all about Arizona's point streak against them and are eager to end it.
"They seem to like to play against us and they've had success against us in the past, so we've got to break out of that," forward Ryan Nugent-Hopkins said. "They don't really give up too much. They play a pretty stingy game and they kind of wait for us to make mistakes. We have to make sure that we're patient and not give up too much and not commit turnovers. When you get frustrated with the game that when things tend to turn south."
Captain Connor McDavid leads the team and the NHL with 40 points (12 goals, 28 assists).
"We've done a good job shutting their top players down and playing a tight game," Coyotes defenseman Oliver Ekman-Larsson said. "It's a big challenge to be out there against the top players in the league like McDavid. Most players slow down when they get the puck but he seems to get faster."

Center Leon Draisaitl, who ranks first on the team with 14 goals, is emerging as a star. He has 30 points this season, including four in his past two games, and he wins 51.4 percent of his face-offs.
Goaltender Cam Talbot will start seeking his 17th win of the season.
The Oilers will play minus forward Tyler Pitlick, who returned to Edmonton after a leg injury against the St. Louis Blues on Monday.
The Oilers have been clicking on the power play in December with a 35.3 percent success rate. That's second best in the NHL over that time.
