Penguins fans celebrate 51116

Actor Russell Crowe was one of many fans who took to social media to celebrate and congratulate the Pittsburgh Penguins on advancing to the Eastern Conference Final on Tuesday after they defeated the Washington Capitals in overtime in Game 6.
Crowe let his more than 2 million Twitter followers know who he was rooting for.

When forward Nick Bonino tapped in a rebound in overtime, the gold-clad crowd at Consol Energy Center went into a frenzy.

It didn't take long for the Penguins' social media following to "Party Hard" after hearing their goal song. In fact, the celebration lasted into the morning.

Penguins co-owner/chairman Mario Lemieux was thrilled to see his team get past its rival for the eighth time in nine Stanley Cup Playoff series.

Pittsburgh mayor Bill Peduto took to Twitter as soon as the game ended.

Pittsburgh pride, also known as 'Burgh pride, was in full effect as fellow professional sports teams chimed in to congratulate the Penguins.

Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le'Veon Bell was one of many fans to give the Penguins a round of applause.

The University of Pittsburgh athletics program took its celebration to the dance floor.

Actor/director/producer and Pittsburgh native Joe Manganiello was pretty pumped about the win.

Much of the focus was on Bonino after the victory, but one fan requested a GIF of the private celebration with forward Patric Hornqvist and rookie goalie Matt Murray. The Penguins delivered again.

And, per tradition, the Penguins did not forget to congratulate the Capitals during the emotional handshake line after another epic series.
