December 30, 2006 - The Bolts begin hot streak
The Lightning stumbled into their matchup against Montreal with a disappointing 17-19-2 record. Goals by Brad Richards, Vinny Prospal and Filip Kumba not only sparked the Bolts to a 3-1 win but also helped jump start their season. The win began a 19-6-2 run that propelled Tampa Bay to their fourth straight playoff appearance.
December 31, 2011 - Esposito's statue dedication
In a ceremony held on Ford Thunder Alley before the Lightning's game against Carolina, the team unveiled a statue of founder Phil Esposito on the plaza. The excitement prior to puck drop carried over to the game as Steven Stamkos recorded a hat trick in a 5-2 Lightning victory.
