During the Tampa Bay Lightning's bye week, Bolts captain Steven Stamkos returned to Sarnia, Ontario, on January 12 to have his No. 91 jersey retired.

Before being drafted with the first overall pick in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft by Tampa Bay, Stamkos suited up for the Ontario Hockey League's Sting for two seasons and tallied 197 points (100 goals, 97 assists) in 124 games.
Stamkos' No. 91 was the first number retired in the 23-year history of the Sting. Current Sarnia players donned Stamkos' jersey during pre-game warmups, and those warmups jerseys, all signed by Stamkos, are currently being auctioned off at auctions.nhl.com.
