TAMPA BAY - The Tampa Bay Lightning announced today the Lightning Heroes League for local heroes living in Tampa Bay that play hockey. The league is specifically designed and devoted to those that serve the Tampa Bay community so faithfully, including teachers, medical personnel, police officers, fire fighters and armed forces.

The Lightning Heroes League will be based out of Xtra Ice (6910 Asphalt Ave., Tampa, FL) and will include one practice and one game a week with a special guest appearance by a member of the Lightning alumni. Each participant will also receive a jersey. Registration is $150 for the 10-week session. All players must be registered with USA Hockey prior to participating in the Lightning Heroes League.
There will be two, 10-week sessions for interested participants to join. The first block will take place from October 3, 2018 through December 12, 2018, while the second block will be from January 9, 2019 through March 13, 2019. Teams will play four-on-four games, and the championship game will be hosted at AMALIE Arena.
