POLETÍN RECORDS THREE POINTS ACROSS TWO GAMES

Tomas Poletín started a new point streak on Friday, Oct. 16, with a two-goal performance against the Portland Winterhawks.

His first of the night came on a deflection from a slapper off the stick of Nate Corbet. Poletín notched the game-winner a little over a minute into OT.

The 19-year-old center continued to contribute for the Kelowna Rockets, tallying an assist on the game-tying goal against the Prince George Cougars on Saturday evening.

Poletín now has two multi-point contests this season; his first came in the form of a three-point game (1G, 2A) against the Swift Current Broncos on Oct. 7.

The Islanders' 2025 fourth-round pick (106th overall) has seven points (3G, 4A) in seven games in his second season in the WHL.

DRAVECKÝ FOUR-GAME POINT STREAK

Vladimir Dravecký has done it again. The 6-foot defenseman recorded five points (1G, 4A) in three games last week, extending his point streak to four consecutive games in the process.

Dravecký’s point streak began on Oct.10, when he recorded a five-point game (2G, 3A). Dravecký followed up that performance with another multi-point game, recording an assist and the game-winning goal against the Sarnia Sting on Oct. 14.

Dravecký continued to carry the momentum into Friday’s contest, tallying an assist on the overtime winner 16 seconds into the extra frame.

The Islanders’ 2026 sixth-round pick (141st overall) extended his point streak in Sunday’s game against the Sudbury Wolves. Dravecký notched two helpers to propel Guelph to five unanswered goals in its 5-2 win over the Wolves.

During Dravecký’s four-game point streak, the 18-year-old has recorded 10 points (3G, 7A). He has four multi-point outings across nine games played this season.

Dravecký’s 14 points (4G, 10A) are tied for the OHL lead among defensemen.

HOOD LOCKS IT DOWN IN PAIR OF WINS

Goaltender Burke Hood has allowed just one goal in each of his last two games between the pipes.

The 6-foot-4 netminder allowed just one goal on 40 shots against the Seattle Thunderbirds on Oct. 13, helping to lift the Vancouver Giants to a 5-1 victory.

Hood continued to be the backbone of his squad, tallying a 40-save contest on Saturday, Oct. 17, against the Penticton Vees.

Hood has tallied a 0.975 save percentage across his last two games.

The Islanders’ 2025 fifth-rounder has shone this season, sporting a 4-1-1 record, a1.82 goals against average and a .946 save percentage.

COWAN'S THREE-GAME GOAL STREAK, FOUR-GAME POINT STREAK

Bobby Cowan has lit the lamp three times in three games for Western Michigan University. The sophomore has tallied a point in every game this season for the Broncos.

Cowan capped off the Broncos’ 6-1 win over Notre Dame with a power-play goal with a little over a minute from the end of regulation.

Cowan continued to find the back of the net in the second game of the weekend series against the Fighting Irish, tallying the Broncos’ third goal in the first period.

The Edina, Minnesota, native has recorded five points (3G, 2A) on the young season. Cowan’s goal streak dates back to October 9, when he tallied a two-point (1G, 1A) performance against Ferris State University.
