Marchessault Joins Vegas' 100-Point Club

One week after teammate William Karlsson registered his 100th point with the Vegas Golden Knights, Jonathan Marchessault achieved the same feat with an assist against the New Jersey Devils on Dec. 14.
The assist, fittingly, came on a 2-on-1 in which Marchessault threaded the puck perfectly around a defender right onto the stick of Karlsson who chipped it into the cage.
When Karlsson hit the 100-point mark, the point came in his 112th game as a Golden Knight. Marchessault's 100th point came just one game quicker than Karlsson as he notched the point in his 111th game with Vegas.
"I don't necessarily look at those things that much, but it's an honor," Marchessault said. "I love it here, so I do everything that I can to help my team. As a hockey player, you always want to be part of a story and I think that we're part of a story here. When you look at what we did last year, we want to keep building on that and see where it takes us."

Marchessault has shown that he wants to be with the Golden Knights for the long term and is under contract through the 2023-24 season. The opportunity to score at a high rate with Vegas exists for Marchessault in the future, but his first 100 with the team are worth another look.

That was the first of a three-game point streak in which he had three goals and one assist. - The first three-point game of Marchessault's career in Vegas came in Ottawa when he posted one goal and two assists against the Senators on Nov. 4, 2017. - From Nov. 22-25, 2017 Marchessault scored nine points in three games as he had one goal and two assists in three straight games. He also notched his first game-winning goal as a Golden Knight during that stretch against San Jose. - From Dec. 17, 2017 to Jan. 2, 2018 he went on a seven-game point streak that saw Marchessault pile up five goals and six assists for 11 points. - On Jan. 3, Marchessault signed a six-year contract extension worth an average annual value of $5 million. - Marchessault landed a three-assist game against the Montreal Canadiens on Feb. 17 at T-Mobile Arena. - He had another seven-game point streak from March 18-30 with five goals and five assists for 10 points.
