Jets recap

The Vegas Golden Knights (40-25-8) grounded the Winnipeg Jets (44-23-6) with a 4-1 win on Thursday night at Canada Life Centre.

HOW IT WENT DOWN
Pavel Dorofeyev put Vegas up 1-0 when he scored his 12th goal of the season with less than five minutes remaining in the opening frame. In the second period, Sean Monahan tied the game at 1-1 with a tip-in shot at 3:31. With 5:29 remaining in the third, Ivan Barbashev scored the go-ahead goal for the Golden Knights, netting a backhander past Connor Hellebuyck to bring the score to 2-1. Barbashev, again, scored an empty-netter less than five minutes later to make it 3-1. Jack Eichel potted a second empty-net goal for Vegas with less than one minute remaining, solidifying the 4-1 final.

TOP PERFORMERS
William Karlsson: Karlsson posted a two-point night with assists on both Dorofeyev and Eichel's goals.

Ivan Barbashev: Barbashev netted two goals in the win, including the game-winner.

Logan Thompson: Thompson stopped 39 of 40 shots in the 4-1 win, marking his 21st win of the season.

Pavel Dorofeyev has scored three goals in his last four games, and seven over his last 13.

Logan Thompson stopped 39 of 40 shots, good for a .975 percentage to mark his fourth straight start where he has allowed just one goal. It is the longest stretch of its kind in his career.

Anthony Mantha extended his point streak to four games (5A). With his assist, Mantha reached the 40-point mark for the first time since 2018-19 (21G, 19A).

Vegas extended its point streak to five games.

With the win in Winnipeg, Vegas became the only team in the NHL to win 40 games in four consecutive seasons.
