Get ready to run, walk, cheer, and celebrate the start of the 2025-26 season at the 12th Annual Canes 5K, presented by UNC Health and assisted by Raleigh Orthopaedic, on September 21st at 8:15 AM!

This year's event will include a 5K route around Lenovo Center and surrounding areas, two Caniac kids' dashes, inflatables, Kona Ice, a refreshing cool-down zone, interactions with some of your favorite Canes players, and more! This isn't your average 5K; it's a Canes community celebration. Whether you're racing for your personal best or just joining for the fun, there's something for everyone... including our four-legged friends!

CANES 5K

Due to overwhelming support, the Canes 5K has reached maximum capacity and registration has now closed.

Registration includes:

  • One (1) ticket to a 2025-26 Canes home game
  • Commemorative t-shirt & sticker
  • Personalized race bib
  • A post-race breakfast, courtesy of US Foods and Lenovo Center staff
  • One (1) cold beer, courtesy of RH Barringer (21+ only)

Each Canes 5K participant (excluding the Caniac Kids Dash & Full STM participants) will receive one upper-level ticket as part of their registration. There will be a list of pre-determined games in the 2025-26 season from which participants can select. Games will be announced in a post-race email!

The Full Season Ticket Member special price is for Full Season STMs who do not want the complimentary home game ticket as part of their race registration. If you are a Full Season STM who would still like to receive the complimentary ticket, please select the full-price registration option.

CANIAC KIDS DASH

Canes 5K Details

Race Day

The 12th annual Canes 5K presented by UNC Health and assisted by Raleigh Orthopaedic will take place at Lenovo Center on Sunday, Sept. 21, at 8:15 a.m. All proceeds benefit the Carolina Hurricanes Foundation.

Participants are strongly encouraged to pick up their packets before race day. One person may pick up multiple participants' packets, but must have a photo of each additional participant's photo ID.

Participants may pick up their packets on the following dates and times at the Lenovo Center box office:

Wednesday, Sept. 17
5 PM - 7 PM

Thursday, Sept. 18
11 AM - 1 PM
5 PM - 7 PM

Race Day Schedule

  • 7:00 a.m. - Limited packet pick-up in the Lenovo Center box office
  • 8:15 a.m. - Pre-race ceremony
  • 8:25 a.m. - Caniac Kids Dashes
  • 8:45 a.m. - Canes 5k presented by UNC Health and assisted by Raleigh Orthopaedic
  • 10:00 a.m. - Post-race stretch with Stormy, award ceremony, and drawing for raffle prizes
  • 9:30 - 11:30 a.m. - Post-race breakfast for all registered participants, compliments of US Foods and Lenovo Center staff

Awards and prizes will be presented to the top overall male and female runner and the top male and female runner from each age group. Race winners will be determined by gun time. Age group winners will be determined by chip time.

  • Overall male and female winners will receive a trophy and a 2025-26 Carolina Hurricanes team-signed replica stick

Age Group Winners

The top overall male and female runners from each age group below will receive a trophy. Overall winners from the above category are not eligible for age group awards.
