Prudential Financial, theNew Jersey Devils and Prudential Center will honor the nation's current and former military service members during the team's annual Military Appreciation Night, presented by Prudential, on Thursday, April 29 when the Devils host the Philadelphia Flyers at 7 p.m. The Devils will provide 100 active duty service members stationed in Newark who are aiding in vaccination distribution, with tickets and in-game acknowledgements of their continued service and dedication.
Devils players will wear military-inspired warm-up jerseys before the game, which will be auctioned online through May 6 with proceeds benefitting the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS). Now through April 29, fans may enter the Devils Camo Jersey Sweepstakes, presented by Prudential, for a chance to win a military-inspired jersey signed by the full Devils roster. Throughout the night, both in-arena and within the second-screen experience, the Devils and Prudential will present taped interviews with TAPS Founder, Bonnie Carroll, alongside Jim Beamesderfer, Vice President, Veterans Initiatives at Prudential Financial to discuss the importance of Military Appreciation Night and how awareness will introduce the public to the TAPS mission and support TAPS initiatives by providing resources to military families across the country.

Since 1994, TAPS has provided surviving military families with comfort care and resources. TAPS connects their 24/7 national peer support network and grief resources to families and individuals dealing with the loss of a loved one in service, at no cost. In 2020, TAPS connected 7,583 newly bereaved individuals to their various programs, adding to their growing network of 100,000+ surviving families, averaging at 21 new survivors per day. At the start of the pandemic, they have conducted 250 training sessions on grief, trauma, and suicide prevention and counseling for military commands, corporations and professionals in efforts to expand their care network and provide the best support programs.
